I'm currently enjoying headphones that failed in this way. After bracing the broken joint with low-temp moldable thermoplastic they are comfortable and usable, if no longer aesthetic. Handy stuff.

I have these headphones and they are great but this is one design flaw that is going to happen. One side broke after 1 year with daily use, the other side 6 months after. The way I fixed it was with small cable ties. Tied it tight with the excess hanging away from your ears, trimmed the excess and burnt the edge to get rid of the sharpness. Continuing to work well now.

I can only speak to a pair of audio technica headphones where I disassembled to repair a similar problem - within I found a lot of carefully shaped pieces to control how far the cup could pivot or stops to prevent flexing too far...it's was all too intricate and complicated to reinforce. All super-glue attempts quickly failed - and/or finally glued in one spot. My final solution was to secure that side completely to the headband and let the other side pivot/flex to adjust. It wasn't an ideal fix - but as my head size only inflates/deflates (ego) but not physically it was a reasonable compromise. It did take some getting used to.

It’s hard to tell the failure mode here, but mine did something similar, literally use black electrical tape, and it works amazing, and looks Original.

Mine doesn't charge. Or it would charge but still remain at 10 percent even though its fully charged. Like there's something wrong with the battery sensor.

I had the same failure. I bought replacement parts and took it apart to do the repair, including soldering. After doing the soldering I realized the part could have been fixed without having to resolder at all. Just needed to be taken apart and put back together.

I used black insulation tape to fix the issue. They still look like new.

I’ve had this same issue where the plastic swivel joint holding a metal bracket that allows the cup to swivel breaks and causes the ear cup to hang freely. Reading lots of forums and found this is something that just happens with normal use. One day you may pick up your headphones and they’ll snap (which is what happened to me), or you may put them down and this snaps, or you’ll just find them hanging. Sony refuses to cover and says this is an out of warranty repair as it falls under physical damage. I was told by multiple Sony reps that any issue that isn’t a bad driver will not be covered, even if the headphones just spontaneously break. You’re directed to United Radio as the repair partner of Sony in the US. You must pay to ship them the item, labor, parts, and to have it shipped back to you — and must give them your card info before any repairs can start. It all comes out to around $200. This seems to be an issue United Radio has to repair a lot, and they recognize this but Sony claims to not have any evidence to support that this is a common issue. There’s nothing you can do to avoid this issue other than win the bin lottery. This issue is just caused my normal use. To fix: there are a good number of YouTube videos on how to take the headphones apart. Follow those until you are about to reinsert the metal bracket that fell out of place. Reassemble the headphones and they will no longer hang and should now be attached. The cup will swivel beyond what is intended with this fix.
